The Y.b.chavan College of pharmacy was established in 1989, having been recognized by the all-Indian council for technical education, New Delhi and the government of Maharastra .It is the first institution to bring the Degree course in Pharmacy to the doorstep of the people of Marathwada. It is now affiliated to the newly established Maharastra University Of Health Sciences, Nashik.
Situated in the sprawling and the beautiful campus of the Maulana Azad Education trust (MAET) at Aurangabad, The college is housed in an expensive building, which has well equipped laboratories, a rich library, a state-of-the-art museum and all the requisite infrastructure for imparting excellent academic training .it is supported by a qualified and highly experienced teaching faculty. In 199 ,the Trust entered into the collaboration with the Wockhardt limited, one of the leading and prestigious pharmaceutical companies in India with a view to jointly manage the college, sharing expertise an providing practical training at Wokhardt’s Pharmaceutical Plant and its Research Center in Aurangabad.
Aurangabad is an old historical city with hoary and a vibrant, modern present in the state of Maharastra .It is located at an altitude of 581 meters and is linked by air to Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and Udaipur.By rail, Aurangabad is connected to Mumbai, Delhi, Calcutta and Chennai, etc. and by road, it is linked to Nashik, Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
